Suspect Identified in High Street Raid

Police wrap up the investigation after a raid Thursday on High Street. Two men surrendered without issue.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Two people have been taken into police custody after several law enforcement agencies conducted a high profile raid at an apartment complex on High Street near St. Marys Avenue.

Police say one of the suspects, 18-year-old Socrates Bragg Jr., is connected to a shooting Thursday night near Gay and McKee Streets. The other suspect hasn't been identified. Bragg is charged with aggravated battery and criminal recklessness.

The raid blocked traffic and authorities urged residents to remain in their homes. Others who returned home were prevented from using the street during the two-hour confrontation.

Schools at Precious Blood Catholic School say they were placed on alert, but classes continued as normal.

Several police departments, including the city's Violent Crimes Task Force, were involved.
