SURVEY: Notre Dame, Manchester Among Best Colleges to Work For

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WOWO): Two northern Indiana institutions have been recognized as great employers.

The Great Colleges to Work For list from the Chronicle of Higher Education profiles 90 universities and colleges of all sizes. The University of Notre Dame made the honor roll for large, four-year colleges. It's the sixth-straight year for Notre Dame.

UND was cited for compensation and benefits, work/life flexibility, relationship with supervisors, confidence in leadership and facilities.

According to the Chronicle “Notre Dame is on a mission to do good in the world…that's what makes it a great place.”

Manchester University, in North Manchester, was also recognized. The school was profiled for its collaborative governance and confidence in leadership.

Quoting the report, “faculty and staff believe in its core mission to respect the infinite worth of every individual.” Adding, “faculty challenge students and hold them accountability for quality.”

More than 43,000 employees at 278 colleges were surveyed.
