FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): There was a Special Weather advisory under effect until 6:45am this morning for portions of Allen, Adams, Paulding and Van Wert Counties.

John Taylor of the National Weather Service tells WOWO news it was due to a patch of strong storms moving quickly through the area.

“Mainly we had heavy rain. We had a couple of reports of small hail, and got reports of an inch to a inch-and-a-quarter of precipitation in some spots.”

There’s a chance of severe storms again this afternoon, according to Taylor, who says it could impact the evening commute.

“Some of those storms could get severe, with large hail a possibility.”

Taylor says if storms do develop, they’re not likely to form a “widespread” threat.
