Stolen Vehicle Alert in Steuben County

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind (WOWO): Steuben County has had five stolen vehicles reported since June 1st, three of which occurred on Tuesday.

The suspect(s) are looking for vehicles that are unlocked and have keys either in the vehicle or hidden inside. All the stolen vehicles have been recovered, after being driven a short distance and then abandoned.

In addition to the stolen vehicles, the Sheriff’s Office has also had reports of unlocked vehicles that have been gone through by the thieves. These crimes have occurred in the areas of CR 300 and 400, north between SR127 and 600 east.

As of right now, officers with the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department are asking you to make sure your parked vehicles are locked and the keys removed. They also say it’s not a bad idea to move all valuables from view and park in a well-lit area.
