Steuben County Humane Society Threatens Shutdown If Funds Not Met

ANGOLA, Ind. (WOWO): In an open letter to the Steuben County Council Members, Steve Mumby of the Steuben County Humane Society is requesting funds in order to keep the shelter open.

On March 8th, the letter was sent to council members as a warning that if $62,723 being voted on for the budget is not met, the shelter will have to terminate services. The total budget for the year is $169,522, and their request represents the least they could accept to run the shelter.

The council is scheduled to determine the fate of their budget on March 23rd. He says in the letter that if an agreement can't be made by 5 p.m., they'll cease operations immediately.
