State Sen. Brown Joins Banks, Galloway in 3rd District Field

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) – A second state senator is joining the field for northeastern Indiana's Third District congressional seat.

First-term Republican state Sen. Liz Brown of Fort Wayne says on her website http://lizbrown.us that she's running for the seat being vacated by GOP incumbent Marlin Stutzman. Stutzman announced Saturday he will seek the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by the retiring Dan Coats.

Brown is a civil and domestic mediator and former Fort Wayne city councilwoman.

Republican state Sen. Jim Banks of Columbia City and Dr. Pam Galloway of Warsaw said Monday they're also seeking the seat.

Galloway served in the Wisconsin state Senate until 2012, then moved to Indiana with her husband to be closer to their families. She chaired the successful campaign of Republican state Rep. Curt Nisly of Goshen last year.
