State Police Offer Safe Travel Tips

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – As many road warriors prepare to hit the highway for the long holiday weekend, the Indiana State Police want to pass along some safety reminders. They say it’s a good to avoid traveling with large amounts of cash.  You should also let someone know where you’re going and how you plan to get there.  You should also make sure someone knows how to reach you, in the event of an emergency back at home.

Then there’s the usual stuff. You should make sure your car is road worthy.  Get the oil changed, check the hoses and belts and it’s even a good idea to put a kit together with some basic tools and maybe some extra anti-freeze and a quart of two of extra motor oil.
