INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): An Indiana State Police motorcycle sergeant has been recognized for saving a life.
The Service and Valor Awards Ceremony was held at the Indiana Government Center for Indiana State Police Sergeant Pornteb Nathalang of the Enforcement Division. On March 26th, 2013, Nathalang came upon a crash on I-65 near Washington Street in Indianapolis. He found 48 year old Benjamin Lindley of Indianapolis in full cardiac arrest, and performed CPR until other emergency personnel could arrive. Because of his actions, Lindley survived.
They later found out that Lindley became ill when driving, lost consciousness and drove into the side of a semi-trailer, and his survival was attributed to the fast acting Sergeant and the CPR.
Nathalang was recognized by Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas G. Carter and his primary staff.
