Spencerville Man Jailed on Multiple Charges Relating to Injured Infant

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A 23-year-old man from Spencerville was arrested Thursday morning by Indiana State Police officers, following an investigation into severe injuries sustained by a six-month old girl.


Officers were called to Parkview Regional Medical Center to investigate the events that led to the infant's injuries. She was suffering from a fractured skull, internal head injuries and had a healing broken rib.


Further investigation resulted in the arrest of 23-year-old Juan Luis Ledesma on the following charges:

  • * 2 Counts of Battery to a Child Under the Age of 14, Level 3 Felonies

  • * 2 Counts of Neglect of a Dependent Causing Serious Bodily Injury, Level 3 Felonies

Ledesma was taken to the DeKalb County Jail.
