FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Speaker of the House Paul Ryan visited Fort Wayne Thursday morning to attend a campaign breakfast for 3rd district Congressman Jim Banks.

Speaker Ryan, who appeared on Fort Wayne’s Morning News, says that he believes the Republican party is in great shape heading into the midterm elections in November.

Ryan had high praise for Congressman Banks, citing him as a “great workhorse”. The Speaker of the House went on to say that he feels the majority is in great hands, which made his decision to retire at the end of this year an easier choice.

Congressman Banks is up for re-election in November against Democratic candidate Courtney Tritch.
