South Bend Mother Upset With Prosecutors

A South Bend mother is upset prosecutors won’t file criminal charges in the death of her 23-month old daughter, who died weeks after being found underwater in a swimming pool at a home day care.

Johnanna Bullocks told WSBT-TV she’s outraged that the St. Joseph County prosecutor’s office decided against filing charges in the death of her daughter, Skyler. But she says she’s even more upset after hearing about the decision while watching the news instead of being informed by prosecutors.

The prosecutor’s office said it couldn’t prove that any one person knowingly put the girl in danger. Authorities say the South Bend girl fell into the in-ground pool August 2nd and died September 18th at a hospice. The prosecutor’s office says both women supervising Skyler believed she was inside the house before she was found in the pool.
