SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) _ Authorities say several calls from the public helped investigators identify a man who was hospitalized in critical condition after being pulled from a northern Indiana river.
State conservation officers say South Bend firefighters pulled 57-year-old Stephen Rodick of South Bend from the St. Joseph River and rushed him to a hospital Monday evening.
David Jaramillo told the South Bend Tribune he was driving on a bridge just north of South Bend when he saw the man fall or jump off the bridge and he called 911.
Police asked for the public's help in identifying Rodick because he didn't have any identification on him after he was rescued.
