Some Fort Wayne City Councilmen Concerned Over Riverfront Development Project

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Some Fort Wayne City Council members aren't sold yet on the planned riverfront development project.

The first phase of the project was introduced to the City Council Tuesday night.

The Journal-Gazette says there were concerns over the timing of the presentation, since the committee that would approve the $6 million Legacy Fund request for the project doesn't meet again until May 6th. Republican Councilman Mitch Harper also had a concern, saying the plan lacks detail.

The money would be spent on riverbank cleanup, environmental and design studies, and property purchasing.

The issue will be discussed again on May 12th. There is no council meeting next Tuesday due to the primary election.
