Smoke From A Concrete Truck Contributes To Crashes

NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO):  Noble County Emergency crews are reporting multiple accidents on US 6 between 500 East and 600 East.

Deputies say a 2007 Chevrolet Cruz driven by Thomas Chelbus of Sturgis Michigan was struck from behind from a 2012 Chevrolet Cruz driven by Joshua Stewart of Albian.  Both vehicles were driving westbound on US6 near 500 East when Chelbus slowed down and Stewart collided from behind.

Another crash on US6 closer to 600 East involved Sara Elliot of Rome City traveling westbound when she was truck from behind by Tristen Sutton of Rome City.

In both crashes, the person who initiated the crash said smoke from a concrete truck contributed to them losing visibility with the car in front of them.  Deputies made contact with the concrete truck driver, and he said the truck owned by Erie Haven Concrete was experiencing a malfunction.
