Skid-Steer Loader Runs Over, Kills SW Indiana girl

RAGLESVILLE, Ind. (AP): Authorities say 4-year-old southwestern Indiana girl has died after being run over by a skid-steer loader.

Daviess County Sheriff's Department says Regina Wittmer died from massive head trauma Saturday afternoon at Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

The department says in a news release the girl's father was operating the equipment when he stopped it to place the girl and her 2-year-old brother in the cab. After placing the boy there, an accidentally pushed lever caused the loader to move forward and run over the girl.

The Washington Times-Herald and WTHI-TV report the accident occurred on the family's property near Raglesville, about 65 miles northeast of Evansville.
