Six People Charged with Taking Over Legal Limit of Trout

GOSHEN, Ind. (WOWO): Indiana Conservation Officers have charged six suspects with taking over the legal limit of trout.  Saturday was opening day of the inland stream trout season in Indiana. Officers conducted increased patrols of the Little Elkhart River as the start of the season got underway. Officers say that as a result of the increased patrols, six suspects were found to have taken a combined total of 21 illegal fish. Each suspect was charged with one misdemeanor count each of taking over the legal possession limit of inland trout. The daily bag limit for inland stream trout where the violations were seen is five fish. The fish must also be at least 7” long. Officers say there are several additional restrictions and regulations of which fisherman have to be aware. A release sent by Indiana Conservation Officers says you can get information by getting a free 2014-2015 Indiana Fishing Regulation Guide at most sporting goods retailers or visit the Indiana Department of Natural Resources website at www.in.gov/dnr.
