Single-Vehicle Accident Leaves One Injured on Dupont Road

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): At 3:34 A.M. Monday, Fort Wayne police responded to Dupont Road and Auburn Road in reference to a crash with injuries. When they got to the scene of the single-vehicle accident, officers found a victim who had been given medical treatment by a Three Rivers Ambulance Authority supervisor who was driving and discovered the crash. The victim was taken by medics to a local hospital in serious condition where the victim was downgraded to critical condition by a physician. Preliminary reports show the victim was the driver of the vehicle and only occupant. The vehicle hit the curb on the side of the road and left the roadway then hit a mailbox and utility pole. It does appear alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash. Police are still investigating.
