Signage for “Phyllis J. Pond Memorial Highway,” Unveiled

NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WOWO): Tuesday afternoon, Governor Mike Pence along with the family of Phyllis Pond, unveiled the “Phyllis J. Pond Memorial Highway” sign in New Haven.

Leaders with the Indiana Department of Transportation revealed the two signs designating U.S. 24 – from U.S. 30 east of New Haven to the Indiana/Ohio State Line.

“Thanks to Representative Pond’s efforts, today U.S. 24 has been transformed from a winding two-lane, rural highway to a new four-lane, limited access expressway that provides economic development opportunities from Fort Wayne to the Port of Toledo. The new roadway improves access and safely across northern Indiana and northern Ohio,” said Governor Mike Pence.
