Shooting At Conagra Foods In Indianpolis

An Indianapolis woman whose husband was fatally shot at a Con-Agra Foods plant by a co-worker says she doesn’t know what could have led to the shooting.

Peggy Hicks told The Indianapolis Star on Saturday she doesn’t understand why her 45-year-old husband, Anthony Hicks Senior, was fatally shot Friday night by a co-worker.

She says she’s angry at Alonzo Laws, the Indianapolis man police say shot Hicks in a plant break room and then killed himself.

Peggy Hicks says her husband knew the 44-year-old Laws but had never mentioned any problems with him at work.

She says her husband had worked at the Indianapolis plant for nine years.

Police spokesman Officer Michael Hewitt says homicide detectives were still investigating the murder-suicide Saturday afternoon and had no additional information to release.
