Ohio Sheriff dies following surgery complications

OTTAWA, Ohio (WOWO): Putnam County in Ohio is mourning the loss of its Sheriff.

Allen County, Ohio Sheriff Samuel Crish announced Wednesday that Sheriff Mike Chandler died suddenly and unexpectedly. According to a Facebook post on the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office page, Chandler died Wednesday morning of complications from a surgery.

Chandler, who was a Fort Jennings native, was in law enforcement for 33 years and served on the Multi-Area Narcotics Task Force. He was Sheriff of Putnam County since 2012.
