Seymour Indiana Man Charged with Torturing Wife

SEYMOUR, Ind. (AP) _ A southern Indiana man has been arrested after police say he forced his wife to sign a contract to be his slave.

The Seymour man was being held Thursday on charges including rape, criminal deviate conduct and criminal confinement. The man also faces domestic battery charges.

A probable cause affidavit says the 32-year-old man forced his wife to wear a choker collar, bound her with ropes and duct tape and tortured her. Police who were called to the man's home Saturday night found the woman with marks around her neck and burns on her body from cigarettes.

The Associated Press is withholding the man's name because disclosing it could identify his accuser.

The Tribune reports the woman told police she met the man on the Internet.
