Sewage Rates on the Rise in Huntertown

Sewage rates are going up in Huntertown. The city has been trying to break free of its contract with the city of Fort Wayne and build their own sewage plant, however, the guys with IDEM have rejected their original plan. The folks with the city say whether they break free of the city or not, they still need to raise your rates. They’re currently running in the red for sewage 286 thousand dollars a year. The exact amount of the increase has not been hammered out just yet, but they expect results by their next meeting October 15th.
