Semi Hits Concrete that Fell from I-74 Bridge

ST. LEON, Ind. (AP) _ State police say semitrailer crashed after it struck a large piece of concrete that fell from a bridge onto Interstate 74 in southeastern Indiana.

Sgt. Noel Houze says the section of concrete was about 2 cubic feet and fell Monday from the Indiana 46 bridge near the Dearborn County town of St. Leon, about 10 miles west of the Indiana-Ohio state line.

Houze says the bridge is undergoing major repairs and that investigators believe vibrations from heavy machinery dislodged the concrete.

Semi driver 58-year-old Mark Troyer of Middlebury suffered a minor leg injury as the truck hit the concrete section and overturned in the highway's median.
