Search Resumes for Michigan Man in Indiana River

COLUMBUS, Ind. (AP): Authorities have resumed the search for a Michigan man who went missing after the kayak he was in capsized on a flood-swollen river in central Indiana.

State conservation officers and the Bartholomew County Water Rescue Team spent several hours Sunday looking for 27-year-old Enrique Quinonez of Kalamazoo, Mich., before suspending the search because of darkness.

Conservation Officer Jet Quillen says conditions have improved on the Flat Rock River in Columbus, but that it was still too dangerous Monday morning for divers because the river is high after several inches of rain in recent days.

Quillen says Quinonez's kayak capsized shortly after he and a friend launched their boats Sunday morning on the river about 40 miles south of Indianapolis. He says Quinonez wasn't wearing a life jacket and couldn't swim.
