School Bus, Dump Truck Collide, Nine go to Hospital

SYRACUSE, Ind. (AP) _ Seven students and two adults have been released after treatment at a hospital after a school bus collided with a dump truck in northern Indiana.

Wawasee Community School Corp. Director of Curriculum Joy Goshert says a bus carrying 44 Wawasee Middle School students and three adults collided with the truck at an intersection along U.S. 30 while on a field trip.

Goshert says that after the crash, all of the students returned to the school in Syracuse, about 30 miles southeast of South Bend, where they were met by school nurses while their parents were notified.

The field trip to a water park was a reward for students who worked during the school year on positive behavior.
