FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): It's a new high water mark for money raised by SCAN's annual Duck Race.
Saturday's race marked the 27th annual event and with it, more than $186,000 – that's the largest total they've ever raised for the event.
Officials say more than 18,000 rubber ducks filled the St. Joseph River. Money raised from the event go toward SCAN's mission to keep children safe through anti-abuse and neglect efforts.
The organization says they do it by protecting children, preparing parents, strengthening families and educating the community.
