CORYDON, Ind. (AP) _ A southern Indiana school corporation is joining the ranks of districts assigning off-duty police officers to its school campuses. One uniformed officer from either Corydon police or the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department was scheduled to be posted starting Monday at the Corydon-based South Harrison schools’ South Central campus. The district is also assigning one officer to split time between Heth-Washington and New Middletown elementary schools, while two officers will rotate among the schools on the Corydon campus. Superintendent Neyland Clark says the pilot program will cost about $25,000 through the end of this school year.
