FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A high-end steakhouse will be one of the new tenants coming to downtown Fort Wayne.

Great Lakes Capital announced Ruth’s Chris Steak House as its first floor anchor tenant in the new Skyline Tower. They said they’ll employ approximately 50 people and should open in the Fall of 2017.

“We are excited to announce such a key component to Skyline, one that has been years in the making. With a project of this magnitude, we knew we needed a restaurant partner that was both unequivocal in its regional draw and would complement the Fort Wayne market while continuing to drive the renaissance of downtown,” said Ryan Rans, Managing Partner of Great Lakes Capital.

“Working with GLC in the past, we trusted their vision and from the initial stages were interested in being part of the revitalization of the city. We believe that GLC has demonstrated a dynamic plan that will transform the way residents and visitors alike enjoy the downtown area,” said Larry Griggers, franchise partner of Ruth’s Chris Steak House.

Fort Wayne will become only the fourth Ruth’s Chris in the state of Indiana. Two are located in Indianapolis and one in South Bend.

In January, GLC announced the firm had reached an agreement with the city of Fort Wayne to develop Skyline Tower.

“I continue to be encouraged by the investment and excitement we’re seeing in the heart of our city,” said Mayor Tom Henry. “Having a well-respected restaurant tenant as part of the Skyline Tower development is great news for our community. Fort Wayne is moving in the right direction to provide residents, businesses, and guests with amenities and opportunities that set us apart as a point of destination.”
