Rural King recalls 9,600 heated blankets, fire and burn hazard

NATIONWIDE, (WOWO) – Rural King is recalling 9,600 heated blankets and throws after reports of the products overheating, according to Consumer Affairs.

The blankets’ and throws’ electric cord can overheat and catch on fire, posing fire and burn hazards.

So far, Rural King has received four reports of overheating, one incident resulted in injury.

The recalled blankets were sold in cream and brown colors and in 50 x 60 and 84 x 90 inch sizes. The electric cord has one or two multi-setting controllers.

The products were manufactured in China, and were sold at Rural King stores nationwide and online at ruralking.com from October 2017 through December 2017, for $30 to $60.

Recalled model numbers, which can be found on the tag, begin with BLV-OB and end with:

  • 204A2

  • 204A2BR
  • 204A2CM
  • 205B1
  • 205B2
