Robber Wearing Santa Beard Reported in Evansville

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) – Evansville police say a man wearing a fake Santa Claus beard tried to rob a man over the weekend by attacking him with a crowbar.

The man told police he was in his home on the city's west side when a person tried to break in Saturday night. The Evansville Courier & Press and WFIE-TV report the man told police a tall, thin man wearing the fake beard hit him in the arm with the crowbar and demanded money.

The man reported he was able to slam the door to keep the attacker outside. Police say they searched the area but didn't make any immediate arrests.
