CHICAGO (WOWO): A local man has been identified as the lone victim in a fiery 5-vehicle wreck in Chicago.

A semi hauling around 40,000 pounds of frozen meat hit a pickup truck on I-55 southbound near Cicero Avenue Monday morning, according to 21Alive.

The pickup had been stopped ahead of him and the collision caused a chain reaction that resulted in a minivan being wedged under a semi, and four of the five vehicles involved catching fire immediately.

The driver of the minivan, 44 year old David Ray of Roanoke, was pronounced dead as a result of the crash and was identified Wednesday.

The other drivers involved were able to escape.

A GoFundMe page has been setup to help Ray’s family.
