FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Indiana's top educator will visit Fort Wayne Friday to speak to county democrats. Superintending of Public Instruction Glenna Ritz will highlight the Pasta and Politics series.

Ritz is expected to discuss the 2014 Indiana General Assembly and promote a book drive for Fort Wayne Community Schools. Books can be dropped off at the Allen County Democrat Headquarters.

The event is at Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 166, 2930 W. Ludwig Road, Fort Wayne. Social hour will start at 5:30 p.m. Secretary of State Candidate Beth White, presently Marion County Clerk, is also scheduled to attend.

Other speakers scheduled for Friday are Indiana Democratic Party Chairman John Zody and District 84 State Representative Candidate Fred Haigh.

The event is open to the public, however less than 50 tickets remain. Tickets are $25.
