FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): INDOT is about to start work on a very busy Fort Wayne intersection.

Weather permitting, work begins Monday on improvements to the intersection of Coldwater Road and Coliseum Boulevard, as part of a resurfacing project that covers six miles of US 27 through downtown Fort Wayne. That’s according to the News-Sentinel.

The first phase of work will see the left turn lane on Coldwater closed as crews work on the three of the intersection’s corners. Then this summer westbound traffic on Coliseum will be shifted to the north as work continues, with an early estimate saying the work should be done by late fall.

The work starts at one of the nearby Allen County War Memorial Coliseum’s busiest times, as the Fort Wayne Mad Ants begin the NBA G-League playoffs on April 3rd, and the Fort Wayne Komets wrap up their regular season on April 7th and 8th, with playoff games scheduled for the following weekend.
