Republican leaders condemn violent Capitol protest

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Republican leaders in Indiana are speaking out against yesterday’s protests that turned violent at the U.S. Capitol.

Former Indiana Congressman Mark Souder tells our Partners in News at ABC 21 “I am ashamed of my side because I thought we were different.”

He added that he was “stunned” that pro-Trump protesters behaved “like a mob”, calling it a “stain” on the party and adding that President Trump should have immediately told them to leave town.

Allen County GOP Chairman Steve Shine said he wasn’t proud of what happened, and says anyone who was involved didn’t do it “as a result of the Republican Party.”

My son was there and said that everyone was in good spirits and there to support the president and the country. You ASSUME Trump”s supporters were the ones who breached the Capitol. They were probably paid protesters in Trump disguise. Anyway it angers me to see all of you jumping to conclusions. Get the facts before you spout off!

I agree.. Everyone on both party’s are so quick to judge without having all the facts. So sad that people can’t assemble without the threat of knowing other’s have a different agenda. This could have all been avoided if the Courts would have just listened to the peoples concerns. That’s what they are there for, right? Such sadness for our country. Change needs to come from the Politicians on both sides. Your not there to serve yourselves. Your there to serve for the people and the greatness of our country. I pledge allegiance to the flag and the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands. ONE NATION under GOD with liberty and justice for ALL!!

Yes Mark Souder, we are all ashamed of the Republicans that incited this. You need to look into leaving this cult and it’s leaders. Remember when you cheated on your wife while a congressman and we still voted for you? We must all be idiots for being republicans.

Since the Democrooks cheated and got to keep it, do you think there will ever again be a fair election? I am against the violence but am wondering what other choices we are left with if they can cheat, and still win. Do you think there will be a chance of passing legislation to stop future election fraud when they hold all the cards? Seems to me our country died on the 6th and I do not see a way back.
