Report: Staff Members Removed From Wayne High School

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Citing safety concerns, two staff members have been removed from the classroom. The move is explained in a letter to parents of Wayne High School students.

Details, in the letter from Principal John Houser, are limited but mentions “personal matters” surrounding the employees.

According to our partners in News at 21Alive, It went on to encourage students “to report anything they see or hear that makes them uncomfortable or out of line.”

The letter says the school is committed to safety and will not tolerate behavior that doesn't conform to that goal.

The letter is as follows:

“Dear Parents/Guardians:

I am writing to let you know of two situations that occurred and the steps we have taken.

We recently became aware of two separate situations regarding two staff members. Because these are personnel matters, I cannot go into details regarding the staff members or the nature of the investigations that we are conducting.

However, the information we received prompted us to follow Fort Wayne Community Schools’ policies and procedures for removing the staff members from the classroom.

We are committed to the safety and well-being of our students and will not tolerate behavior that does not conform to that goal. We all play a role in making sure our schools are safe.

Remind your child how critical it is to talk to an adult in the school if he or she sees or hears something that makes them uncomfortable or seems out of line. The administrative team and teachers at Wayne are committed to keeping our school a safe and effective place to learn.

Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions. Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,
John Houser
Principal
