Replica of Vietnam Memorial to be on Display in Winchester

WINCHESTER, Ind. (AP) – A replica of the Vietnam Memorial will be on display in eastern Indiana later this week.

The (Muncie) Star Press reports (http://tspne.ws/1DCnPPL ) that the monument will be in Winchester in Randolph County near the high school from Wednesday through Sunday. It is 80 percent of the size of the memorial in Washington, reaching about 8-feet tall. All names etched on the wall in Washington also are on the replica. It is provided by American Veterans Traveling Tribute.

The wall will be accompanied by five days of ceremonies and a parade.

The memorial will be open 24 hours a day and free of charge.

U.S. Sen. Joe Donnelly's office and volunteers will host a history project Thursday. Veterans will be interviewed and their stories recorded in the Library of Congress.
