Recall issued for 9Lives cat food

Recall

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): If you have a cat, check the food you’re giving it.

The J.M. Smucker company has announced a voluntary recall of specific types of 9Lives Protein Plus wet food. The recall is due to low levels of Vitamin B1 inside the food.

Cats fed diets low in B1 for several weeks can be at risk for developing a B1 deficiency, which could lead to gastrointestinal and neurological problems, and even sudden death.

If you have any of the Protein Plus Tuna & Chicken or Tuna & Liver cans with a “best if used by” date of Marth 27th, 2020 through November 14th, 2020, throw them away. Find more details here.
