WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP): A Purdue University committee that reviewed campus security after January's deadly campus shooting is recommending that all students be automatically registered to receive emergency text alerts.
 
       That is one of the suggestions the group is making following the attack during which 21-year-old teaching assistant Andrew Boldt of West Bend, Wis., was killed inside the Electrical Engineering Building on the West Lafayette campus. Another student is jailed on murder charges.
 
       The Journal & Courier reports the panel recommends that Purdue's text alert system be an “opt-out” network rather than an “opt-in” to increase the reach of those alerts.
 
       The report says many people raised concerns about classroom doors without locks. The report says the campus has about 41,200 doors and it would cost about $500 each to make them lockable.
