Public Memorial Set for 2 Medics Killed in Crash

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Public safety officials have set a Wednesday memorial service for two young medics who died after their ambulance collided with a car in downtown Indianapolis.

Wednesday’s memorial for 22-year-old Cody Medley of Indianapolis and 24-year-old Tim McCormick of Greenwood will be held at Clowes Memorial Hall on Butler University’s campus.

McCormick’s funeral is scheduled for Tuesday. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the 3:30 a.m. Saturday crash near the Indiana Statehouse.

Medley died early Sunday from his injuries. The cause of Saturday’s crash remains under investigation.

The 21-year-old woman who was driving the car that collided with the ambulance was released following a routine blood-alcohol test.

Police said the ambulance had the right of way at the intersection where the collision occurred and both medics were wearing seatbelts.
