Public Invited to Tour IN Fairgrounds Coliseum

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ The refurbished Indiana State Fairgrounds Coliseum is impressing visitors with its restored grandeur and modern flourishes including an overhead LED video scoreboard and a video ribbon circling the seating bowl.

The fairgrounds held an open house for the 75-year-old Coliseum after a $63 million renovation that had kept the arena closed since October 2012.

Visitor Val Wolf tells WISH-TV she was impressed by the grandeur and the way the coliseum has been opened up.

Jason Acquisto says he was surprised by the scope of the changes. He was expecting just a refreshing of an older building.

The state fair announced Thursday that performers appearing in the Coliseum during this year's fair will include Robin Thicke, Pitbull, Hunter Hayes, comic Jim Gaffigan and the American Idol Live! 2014 Tour.
