DEFIANCE COUNTY, Ohio (WOWO): More details are out on charges against a Defiance County couple over what prosecutors call the “suspicious” 2016 death of a newborn.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Jared Stark treated the child’s body “in a way that would outrage reasonable community sensibilities.”

The court filing says he and his wife Sarah concealed the baby’s decaying body, moving it from room to room in their home in Hicksville before putting it in a plastic storage container, and storing it in a barn that also houses farm animals and equipment.

Investigators tell our Partners in News at ABC 21 that the couple didn’t provide emergency care to the child, which was struggling to breathe and died hours after it was born.
