Proposed Changes to Allen County Rainy Day Funds

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO: A local auditor wants Allen County's multi-million dollar “rain day fund” to only be used in the case of emergency.

According to the Journal Gazette, Allen County Auditor Tera Klutz would like the money to be used in case of extreme emergency such as terrorist attacks or health epidemics.

The rainy day funds have been used like a savings account in the past, for things like communications equipment with the Fort Wayne-Allen County 911 call center.

Allen County city council will continue to discuss the issue this year.
