FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Allen County authorities are waiting for the paperwork to make its way through the legal system before returning a Fort Wayne man home to face a charge of involuntary manslaughter.

Brandon Cook, 27, remained in a Bay County, Fla., jail cell on Monday, four days after he was located at a campground there and arrested.

Cook is wanted in connection with a road rage incident that led to the death of 60-year-old Orlando Fernandez earlier this month. Police accuse Cook of throwing several punches at the older man, who had a heart condition.

He went into cardiac arrest and died.

On Friday, a judge in Bay County ordered Cook be held without bond until extradition could take place. That was expected within a two-week period.

(Our Partners in News at ABC 21 contributed to this report, and several others, on 8/20/18 as the WOWO staff attended the funeral of Charly Butcher. WOWO would like to thank the WTPA/ABC 21 staff for their support in this difficult time.)
