Princeton Man Charged in Estranged Girlfriend’s Killing

PRINCETON, Ind. (AP) _ A southwestern Indiana man is accused of fatally shooting his estranged girlfriend outside a restaurant where she had just celebrated her 13-year-old son’s eighth-grade graduation.

Thirty-one-year-old Jason Perry of Princeton was charged Thursday with murder in Wednesday’s killing of 34-year-old Jessica Tice as she and her son walked to a car outside a Princeton restaurant. He’s being held without bond.

The Princeton Daily Clarion reports that before the shooting, Perry attended Princeton Community Middle School’s 8th grade graduation to see the ceremony.

Tice and her mother told school officials there was a protective order against Perry that should prevent him from attending the event. But Perry was allowed in after officials could find no such order.

Police say Perry bought shotgun shells after leaving the school.
