After one year of service, RCAs may be eligible for health insurance under the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program, dental and vision insurance through the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program and long-term care insurance through the Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program.

Applicants must have a valid state driver’s license, a safe driving record, and at least two years of documented driving experience.

ALL applicants must apply online at http://www.usps.com/employment. Paper applications will not be accepted.

An RCA sorts mail in delivery sequence for the assigned route, loads mail in vehicle and delivers mail to customers along a prescribed route and on a regular schedule. The RCA also sells stamps, stamped paper and money orders and accepts C.O.Ds. In addition, the employee prepares mail for forwarding and maintains records of Change of Address information.

A written exam is required — Postal Exam 473. Instructions regarding the exam process will be sent via email once the candidate successfully submits an online application. Qualified applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening to meet the Postal Service’s requirement to be drug free. Applicants must also be a U. S. citizen, a lawful permanent resident alien, or a citizen of a territory owing allegiance to the United States.

Applicants will need a valid email address and an eCareer Profile to apply for jobs posted.

The Postal Service will communicate with candidates by email concerning applications, so it is very important that applicants are able to receive messages. It is vitally important that applicants add the following email addresses to their email contact list right away to allow correspondence, especially if they use SPAM blocking software, use a Yahoo account, work or military email address:
