Police: Woman’s body dragged into home after crash…

TIPTON, Ind. (AP) _ State police say a man ran through a stop sign and struck and fence before hitting a tree and utility pole and then pulled the body of his live-in girlfriend from the wreck and dragged it into their nearby home in rural Tipton, about 40 miles north of Indianapolis.

Tipton County sheriff's deputies say when they responded to the call of the crash just before 11 p.m. Thursday they found 38-year-old Karla Wolford dead on the living room floor. Deputies say 49-year-old Phillip Epperly, who sustained minor injuries in the crash, was inside drinking a beer.

Epperly is being held in the Tipton County Jail on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death and reckless homicide. Court records did not indicate whether he has hired an attorney.
