Police Trying To Connect Shootings

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO):  Police are trying to figure out if 5 men shot have any connection with each other.

Around 4:31 a.m. Sunday Fort Wayne Police responded to a call at the 1800 block of Fox Point Trail, near S. Anthony and Lafayette on the City's south side.  A person called dispatch but didn't supply any information.  Police arrived and found two adult men outside suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  Both were taken to the hospital in serious condition.  Since the incident one man was downgraded to critical condition.

Just 20 minutes later at 4:51 a.m. police were tipped off that two additional adult men were privately transported to the hospital, both suffering from gunshot wounds.  One man is said to be in good condition, the other in serious but stable condition.

Several minutes later around 4:56 a.m. police received a separate report of an adult man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  He was listed in good condition.

After a search of the general area police located shell casings and broken glass at the intersection of Lafayette and E. Tillman, indicating disturbance involving gun fire.  There were no victims or witnesses at the scene.

At this time investigators are trying to determine if some or all of the victims are related to the disturbance at Lafayette and E. Tillman.  There are currently no suspects or motives in the shootings.

Police would not say if this is gang related.
