Police Search Home of Woman with Ties to Dr. Hedrick

Fort Wayne, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – Monday morning police searched the home of a woman with ties to Dr. William Hedrick. Hedrick is the Fort Wayne pain doctor facing allegations in connection with several patient deaths.

Officers showed up around 9:00 a.m. at the home in the 900 block of River Oak Run in Fort Wayne.

Fort Wayne Police aren’t saying what they were searching for in the home but we do know the homeowner has had a relationship with Dr. Hedrick. We confirmed, through the Allen County Treasurer’s Office, the house is owned by Carey Gross.

Through Facebook we discovered Carey and Dr. Hedrick know each other. We found photos of the two vacationing together in Maui in 2010.

Hedrick currently has a suspended medical license. The Fort Wayne pain doctor is facing allegations of dangerous prescribing habits that officials with the Indiana Attorney General’s Office claim led to seven patient deaths.

Hedrick appeared before the Indiana Medical Licensing Board last week. A final ruling on the status of his license was expected but the hearing was continued. He will appear before the board again later this month.

In late January, federal agents raided a few of Dr. Hedrick’s office locations including centers for pain relief on Jefferson Blvd and his urgent care facility on Lima Road.

So far, no criminal charges have been filed in connection with January’s raids or the search that happened Monday morning but the investigations continue.
