Police Rescue Man After Pursuit

Police were able to rescue a man at the conclusion of a car chase on Tuesday afternoon.  According to our news partners at 21 Alive, the pursuit began near downtown Fort Wayne at about 3:30 PM.  The man’s wife was reportedly in the vehicle as well.  The chase ended on Fairfield near Taylor Street, when the man left his vehicle and threatened to jump off of a bridge.  An officer was able to distract the man, while two others were able to take him into custody.  The suspect’s wife told police her husband was a military veteran who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder.
