Police Prepare for Busy Holiday Travel Period

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): More than 100 million people will be traveling for the holidays, and most of them will be driving. That means a lot of extra work for police.

Sgt. Ron Galaviz of the Indiana State Police says one way you can stay safe is to mentally prepare yourself for all of the hustle and bustle:

“Driving by itself is taxing. So if you're going to be driving over the holidays, with all of the stress associated with that, that's going to be something that pre-planning can help with.”

Galaviz says you'll also want to make sure you take care of any maintenance your car may need before you hit the road.
